Overview

ACS EHR is a cloud-based electronic health record and practice-management platform built specifically for behavioral health and psychiatric rehabilitation programs (PRP) — outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and psychiatric rehabilitation programs — that need clinical documentation, billing, and compliance-supporting workflows in one system.

It helps clinics streamline documentation, revenue-cycle work, and evidence gathering for their own CARF, COMAR, and HIPAA programs.

The problem

Behavioral health and PRP programs are held to documentation, billing, and compliance standards that general-purpose or medical-first EHRs handle poorly:

  • Clinical narratives must remain clear and defensible alongside structured data used for medical-necessity and skilled-intervention workflows.
  • Billing involves specialized claim workflows (behavioral-health CPT/ICD-10, clearinghouse submission, denials, ERA/835) that many EHRs bolt on as an afterthought.
  • Audits are constant — CARF surveys, COMAR reviews, HIPAA — and clinics rarely have time to reconstruct evidence after the fact.

What ACS EHR is

ACS EHR is an all-in-one clinical + billing + compliance platform for behavioral health and PRP programs, delivered as a secure, multi-tenant web application:

  1. Clinical documentation — narrative-first progress notes, structured assessments, treatment plans, medication/MAT tracking, program enrollment, and discharge planning.
  2. AI-assisted documentation — AI note drafting from session context, plus transient real-time speech recognition. Raw audio is processed for recognition but is not retained by ACS EHR as part of the designated record.
  3. Revenue cycle management — encounters and charges, claim scrubbing, clearinghouse submission, denial management, payment posting, and ERA inbox.
  4. Compliance & security — HIPAA-aligned controls, staff training/certification, inspections, drills, full audit trail, break-glass access, and access recertification.
  5. Scheduling & operations — appointments, provider availability, rooms, group sessions, waitlists, and calendar integration.

Who it's for

  • Outpatient (OP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs (PRP) in behavioral health.
  • Clinical and program directors responsible for CARF/COMAR/HIPAA readiness.
  • Billing teams managing claims, denials, and payments.
  • Multi-location / multi-program organizations needing role-based access and organization-scoped data.

Key differentiators

DifferentiatorWhat it means for you
Purpose-built for behavioral health & PRPWorkflows (ASAM/CIWA/COWS, IRP, PRP notes, MAT) exist natively, not as configuration hacks.
Narrative-first clinical notesKeep the clinician-authored narrative central while supporting structured review workflows.
Clinical + billing in one systemNo duplicated data or dropped charges between a chart and a biller.
AI-assisted documentationDraft notes faster; only reviewed text inserted by the user becomes part of the note.
Compliance-supporting workflowsAudit trail, training/certification, break-glass access, and access recertification are first-class features.
Modern, secure architectureAWS-hosted, multi-tenant architecture with role-based access controls.
